| Mates and Crushes are two joyful, but very different things. A mate is someone you're bonded with for life, there are no 'break ups' or 'cheating' of any sort, thus giving the name "soul mate". A crush is a liking for someone you have, and they do not have to like you back, nor accept your advances. There are privileges that come from having a mate that you'd never get from simply having a crush, likewise there are no strings attached to having crushes.
Mates: As said above, a mate is someone you're devoted to. You've bonded with them for life, and there's no way either of you can back out. However, you can not simply ask someone to be your mate and then automatically assume you've been bonded (though that's part of it). Here are some requirements to follow before fully becoming a bonded pair.
-Courtship: You should have known your mate and only had a crush on that person for at least two straight roleplay weeks.
-Get the Blessing: If your mates parents are not in the pack, you should ask the Dominant's for permission to become mates.
-Ask Your Partner: After receiving a solid yes from the Dominants, make sure the one you want to be bonded with feels the same.
Make an Announcement: Post in the Updates Board when you and your partner are scheduled to become an official pair.
Become Mates: 3 days after posting your thread, you can become mates by simply asking one another to become mates.
Now that you've become mates officially, there are some privileges that you've just been granted, including;
-Having Pups -Buying certain things from the pack store -Maternity Points added to your character -And Many More
Crushes: Crushes are no where near the same things as mates. Crushes can be ended at any time, and just because you like someone doesn't mean they are yours. Now, it's okay to like anyone you want, but having a crush on a mated wolf might lead to trouble.
